Still got a long way to go. I seem to have hit a plateau over the last few weeks, needed a reminder of how far I’ve come. 30lbs in just under four months - another 30lbs to go.

Reposting this because I needed to see it.

fourthdimensionaltransitions asked:

What did you do to lose the weight?

Genuinely, by tracking calories in and calories out every day for 18 months.

I bought a Fitbit and downloaded MFP. I used Fitbit to track my calories burnt through excerise (I’m still well known to pace up and down my living room while on the phone or watching TV - why not!?) , and I tracked every single calorie I ate and drank (every single one, they all count) in MFP. Some days I went over, some weeks I stalled, but slowly but surely it all came off, pound by pound.

That sounds so simple I know, but the tricky part is always sticking with it for any length of time. I’d tried dieting and calorie counting for years and never got results. The difference this time was that I was 100% in it for the long haul. I stopped expecting to lose 14lbs in a month and decided I’d be happy losing 14lbs in a year if that’s what it took. I enjoyed my food and made healthy eating feel like the luxury treatment my body deserved rather than a punishment. I wanted a quick fix, but I learnt the only way you can that weight loss / fitness plans only work if you can keep them up for the long haul, not just a few weeks or months.

⚠️ This question might be triggering!! ⚠️ This might be kind of a personal thing but do you have extra skin? That’s what I’m most worried about when it comes to losing weight.

Yeah, I do. It’s not ideal, but it has got a bit better over time since I lost the weight. I mostly notice is on my tummy and in my boobs. But for real, even with a bit of lose skin I am 10000x happier now I’ve lost the weight and if I could go back in time I’d do it all again in a heartbeat!

That feeling when you’ve just killed a workout and you step into the cold and steam is coming off your body.
